Promotions for the Last Quarter

The last quarter of the year is typically a busy time both personally and professionally. Summer vacations are over and it’s time to get back to work or school. The next few months we will be busy with Halloween, Thanksgiving and Chistmas. Most people preceive these as personal holidays but have you thought of bringing these traditions into the workplace?

Halloween everyone could wear costumes, you could give out candy (with your logo on it, of course). Thanksgiving could be a potluck lunch complete with logo’d plates and cutlery.  You could even invite clients and make it an afternoon networking event.  Christmas is a great time to build client loyalty and to stay in touch. Not everyone celebrates the Christmas season the same but everyone enjoys the time off work and receiving presents!!

The last quater is a great time to promote your brand with some great outerwear. We’ve got some great new styles and some old styles that are making a come back.  Fleece is making a come back this fall.  I personally like fleece jackets. They’re so warm and cozy.  Fleece jackets also embroider and laser imprints very well.

Hockey and other winter sports will be starting up soon, if they haven’t already, and we are here to get your team outfitted from head to toe. We can take care of everything from jerseys to team jackets.

If you’re looking for innovative/different/funky/lasting ideas for your next promotion. Give us a call at 855-45-PROMO or email us at info@promotionalbridge.com. We’re happy to help.

See you online!

P.S. Check out our Facebook Page to see a few of the baseball teams we outfitted this summer.

Golf’s Hottest Trends

Year over year we see the same promotional golf items on the prize table at our favourite golf tournaments. Golf balls, towel sets, bags, shirts, wind shirts, divot tools, and hats have all made more than one appearance on the prize table.  I’m going to out on a limb and say that most golfers already have these items. After all, they have been available in the promotional product industry for years. Why not give something different?

There are countless new promotional items that may not be golf related but would be excellent gifts for a prize table at a golf tournament.  These new promotional items would also make great donations to a fundraiser or make an awesome gift to anyone you would like to say thank you to.

People in general don’t go far without their cell phones.  Accessories for cell phones can be tricky.  It’s not like the old days where every device had the same charger.  Portable chargers (with interchangeable hubs to accommodate for different devices), speakers, and other tech savvy gifts are the latest trend in corporate gift giving.

Environmentally friendly products are always a hit with clients.  Tote bags, water bottles, travel mugs and anything made from recycled materials are a great way to show your clients that you care about the environment.

We are also seeing an increase in fashion forward trends and brand names when it comes to giving logo’d clothing as gifts.  Name brands such as Nike, OGIO and Roots have been gaining in popular clothing items for your best clients.

The most important thing that I can leave you with when it comes to promotional golf items is to make sure that it has your logo on it.  Don’t miss out on an opportunity to promote your brand.  Logos don’t have to be bold it can be subtle tone on tone logo that is just bold enough so the person you gave it to remembers where they got it.

Spring Has Sprung or Has it?

Spring has sprung or has it?

I’m never sure if spring has sprung.  I’m sure most Calgarians are with me.  It seems that just when I think spring has sprung; we get another snow storm.  Either way, the first day of Spring is March 20th and that means that Spring is around the corner.

Golf season is also around the corner.  Golf is a great way to get together with current and prospective clients hit some balls and talk about business.  Most people, when they golf with current or potential clients, like to give them a little gift.  Most of the time these gifts are balls, towels, or divot tools. But have you ever thought of giving something that is not golf related?  Like a cell phone charger. Cell phone chargers can be solar powered; therefore they can charge your phone on the course.  I will admit that I’m not a golfer but don’t cell phone batteries run out while golfing?

Another thing that happens in the spring is rain. (April showers bring May flowers.)  This brings me to my next spring promotional item, umbrellas.  They have a huge imprint area and every time it rains they will create walking billboards all over town.

Spring is also the beginning of camping season. We have oodles of logo-ed items that would be great at your next camping trip. Everything from coolers, to barbecues, to sleeping bags can be branded with your corporate logo.  Camping items also make great prizes on a golf tournament table.

Spring also marks the beginning of lacrosse and baseball season.  Jerseys, jackets and other team wear is a great way to support your favorite team and get your logo out there.

Back to the Grind

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but summer is drawing to a close.  The kids are off to school and many of us are back to work after a long summer holiday.

This summer has been a great one for all of us a Promotional Bridge.  Between Stampede and Batting Against Breast Cancer, we managed to move to a bigger office.  (We are now in suite P159.) The new office is a bigger space and is located just down the hall from our past location.

Although summer is a fabulous time of year, the leaves are falling and it’s time to start thinking of your fall promotions.  When we think of fall promotional items we typically think of jackets, hoodies, and hats which are all great gifts but if you’re thinking of doing something out of the norm, then stop by our showroom and see what else is available.  We have hundreds of products displayed in our new bigger showroom so swing by and have a look.

Where We Will Be This Stampede

Calgary may be under water at the moment, but I have no doubt that by Stampede time, Calgary will have dried out, dusted off our boots and ready to barbeque.

Promotional Bridge is sponsoring Studs and Spurs at the Roadhouse again this year. This popular event is taking place on July 3rd at the Roadhouse.  All proceeds go to the Calgary Fire Department’s Burn Treatment Society. Click here for more details.

We will also be at the Public Storage Barbecue on Tuesday, July 9th at the Public Storage location on Blackfoot Trail from 2 – 6.  Music is provided Jo Hikk, and there will be a bouncy castle and games for the kids.  This is a free event open to everyone.

Southcentre Mall is hosting their annual “Pink” breakfast in support of the CIBC Run for the Cure on Wednesday, July 10th  from 9 – 11 in the north parking lot. Come by and have some pancakes.  Hopefully, they won’t be wet like last year. 😆

Hope to see you around town!

Getting the Most Out of Golf Tournament Sponsorships

Golf Season is coming!  I know it’s hard to believe with the snow still on the ground but it is coming, I promise.  Along with Golf Season comes Golf Tournaments.  There are tonnes of opportunities around Calgary to participate in Golf Tournaments not only as a participant but as a hole sponsor.

Hole sponsorship can be a great way to generate leads for your business.  144 golfers will pass by your hole. That gives you 144 prospective clients who are standing around waiting for their turn.   What a great opportunity talk to them.

You should also have a promotional item to give to everyone in the tournament.  This can be in the gift bag the participants receive or you can give the item to them when they get to your hole.  I prefer the latter.  It gives participants a reason to talk to you.

There are usually possibilities for other advertising opportunities.  Take the time to ask about all the advertising opportunities within the golf tournament.  Golf tournaments usually have posters, tickets, and other print material that you can have your logo displayed on for greater exposure.

Make the most out of Golf Tournament Season.  Take the time to research all the advertising possibilities and talk to the coordinators.  Make sure you have signage, promotional items and the right staff member who can talk to people at the hole you are sponsoring.

Corporate Party Etiquette

It’s that time of year again… It’s Corporate Holiday Party Season!  While these parties are intended to create bonds between employees and increase morale, they can go wrong.   We’ve compiled a few tips to ensure that everyone has a good time at the corporate party.

Drink in moderation.  Remember these are your co-workers not your drinking buddies.

Don’t double dip the dip. That’s just gross. No one wants to eat your germs.

If this is your first office party, read the invitation carefully.  Are spouses allowed?  What about kids? It’s also a good idea to ask coworkers about what you should wear and what to expect.

Manners are always important.  Make sure you thank your host.

Attendance is mandatory.  You should and need to go to the party.  You don’t need to stay all night but you should go and ‘make an appearance’.  Besides is a great time to chat up the boss.

Remember spouses’ names.  It’s a simple but important tip. It will ensure that you don’t get into awkward introductions.

Most importantly have fun! It’s a time of year to celebrate.
